Nissan Fuel Injector Replacement Tips

1. First of all, get yourself a new fuel injector replacement kit, which includes the nozzle, valve and O-rings. However, when you are spending the money on this kit, make sure it fits your make and model. Depending on the engine configuration, the fuel injector also differs. E.g. for Nissan Altima there are three variants ranging from 2.4L, 2.5L and 3.5L. So choose the one that exactly fits your car's engine.

2. Secondly, before replacing the fuel injector, it is highly important to relieve the fuel pressure from the system. You can do this by removing the fuel pump fuse or relay after starting the engine. The engine will consume all the fuel pressure and turn off immediately.

3. Now, remove the battery's negative cable and disconnect the vacuum hose and manifold collector from the fuel pressure regulator.

4. Remove the fuel lines first from the fuel rail and also unplug the electrical connector from the harness. Right after that, you can easily remove the fuel rail assembly by disconnecting the mounting bolts using a socket wrench.

5. With the fuel rail removed from the injectors, remove the one that needs replacement by slightly pushing the injector tail.

6. While fitting a new injector, make sure you lubricate the new O-rings using a small portion of motor oil and then fix the injector in its place with specified torque as per your Nissan car model's user manual.

7. Finally, connect the fuel rail assembly and fix the fuel lines. Also, connect the electrical wiring with the connector and fix the manifold collector and vacuum hose pipe to the fuel pressure regulator.

8. Pressurize the system again by connecting the battery cable to the negative terminal and fixing the fuse or relay again.
